TV Seasons & Spoilers recently reported that Richard posted a video on Instagram where he spoke about his exit. He admitted that he unknowingly violated the show’s COVID protocols. Burgi’s exit was not at all planned, and the recast of the character that he plays on the soap, Ashland Locke, happened overnight.

Richard’s final appearance as Ashland Locke is almost coming on the deck. So, Richard thanked his fans for their immense support and love. On January 30, Burgi told his fans, “I wanted to say thank you for all the wonderful words of support,” through an Instagram story. He added, “I can’t get to all the thousands of letters that I’ve received, but it truly touches my heart, and I have such gratitude for all the love and support.” Y&R viewers can expect to see a new Ashland much sooner than expected.

He said, “they’re doing the best they can, as we all are.” He also waved good wishes to Robert Newman, who will be playing Ashland Locke on Y&R now.
