The Young And The Restless fans who have been keeping up would know, Richard Burgi has been replaced on the soap opera. Burgi, who played the character of Ashland on Y&R, has been recast with Robert Newman. Tv Season & Spoilers recently reported the truth about Burgi’s exit. He kept it very classy and gracious, and everyone loved it. While Burgi set the record straight, Newman, who is now all set to take on the role, also decided to tell everyone how he was feeling about stepping in.

Recently, Robert took onto his Facebook to share a grateful message. He thanked everyone for their wishes on this new character. He also hoped that this would put an end to all the worries around his recast. Posting a picture of himself, the actor writes- “Thanks to everyone for teh sweet posts and messages about my joining the cast of Y&R” He says that he could not be more pleased, and he has great respect for the show. He called the cast of the show wonderful and is happy to be a part of it.

He even revealed that he had a lovely zoom meeting with Josh Griffith and Anthony Morina, and they spoke about the characters. Newman is excited by the scripts he is getting, but he is also scared about it. He calls it healthy. Check out his post here.

Burgi being let go from the soap opera certainly wasn’t something that we had thought or wanted. But now, we do hope that Newman settles in the role fast. He has a phenomenal acting caliber, and it will be interesting to see what he brings to the table. He will take on the screen this February 2022 and will immediately become a part of an interesting storyline.

As the speculation has it, The Young And The Restless is building a huge secret reveal around Ashland in the upcoming days. So, Newman might step in just at that moment.
