The Young and the Restless viewers know that Sean Carrigan recently left Genoa City. In his latest storyline, he had kidnapped a pregnant Mariah Copeland. He kept her hostage in a small room. He also led his ex-Abby Newman on the path of one-way obsession. While he was holding Mariah hostage, he also showed Abby the way to find her.
But before Abby could really understand who had kept Mariah hostage, Stitch escaped the town being a fugitive from the law. Right now, all The Young and the Restless fans are furious with Stitch. After all, because of everything he did, poor Mariah was forced to give birth in a cramped little room. While she and the baby have survived, we know that Mariah’s mental health has been affected big time. And all of this is pretty visible. But, what’s next? Will Stitch ever be redeemed?
Recently, Stitch portrayer Sean Carrigan spoke to Soap Opera Digest, where he spoke about how his character went from being a good guy to a bad guy. Speaking about his character, the actor says that he sees Ben as someone who is emotionally damaged. He is looking for a lifeline, but he doesn’t know what that is and how he will find it.
The actor added that Ben is lost. He is hurt. Ben feels like he has failed in more than one way. He couldn’t be a good father or a husband. Referring to Stitch’s past with Abby and the fact that he has an unstable son who caused Abby’s miscarriage, Sean might be able to see Stitch’s motivation in kidnapping Mariah and deceiving Abby.
Speaking more about this, Carrigan also says that he understands why the audience isn’t accepting of this side of his storyline. Celebrating The Soaps reported that he understands why audiences are “scratching their heads” over Stitch’s radical character turn. Not surprisingly, Carrigan also says that he is looking forward to the day when he gets to come back and redeem his character.
Sean says that he feels that Stitch has some unfinished storylines that he will want to tell. And he will always answer the call if The Young and the Restless creators want him back.
