The most surprising suggestion was Summer recommending Sally to replace her. First, Lauren did not offer Sally the job until Summer made the recommendation. Not just that, Lauren said that Sally would be “acting president” until she learns everything.
Lauren said that they also would have to be sure that Sally was a good fit. All of this just suggests that Sally being the president could be temporary. This could only mean two things, either Summer does not plan to go away for so long, or she has come up with a scheme.
