The latest The Young and the Restless spoilers hint that Steve Burton might come back to Genoa City after leaving Port Charles. Soap Opera fans would know, there is speculation that Steve Burton is being let go from General Hospital because of the vax mandate. As per the guidelines, all the crew and the cast of General were supposed to get their vaccination done by November 1, 2021. Those who fail to comply with it will be let go. While Ingo Rademacher has openly refused to get vaccinated, spoilers suggest that Steve is also one of them. So, he is being let go.
Since Steve is leaving General Hospital, would this open a door for him to reprise his role as Dylan McAvoy on The Young and the Restless? Long time viewers would recall, Steve had joined The Young and the Restless back in 2013. Jill Farren-Phelps, who was the executive producer of The Young and the Restless, created the role of Dylan McAvoy and casted Steve Burton for that.
Soap Dirt recalls that Dylan was tied to the legacy character Paul Williams and Nikki Newman. Dylan was a detective who had several love interests over the years. First, he got with Chelsea Newman, and they were a hot couple. However, later on, he was paired with Sharon Newman, and they got married. Dylan was then sent to witness protection while the two of them were still married. So, that led to their divorce. This was also when he left The Young and the Restless and joined General Hospital as Jason Morgan.
But now that he is supposedly leaving General Hospital, we can’t help but wonder if he would join The Young and the Restless? Some insiders reveal that Y&R is in talks with Steve to reprise the role. Since The Young and the Restless doesn’t have a vax mandate right now, Steve has a room open here. It is possible that Steve might come in and romance Sharon in Genoa City.
