Suddenly Amish: Fans Criticize The Show, Call It Fake And Disrespectful

TLC’s new reality show Suddenly Amish has not even premiered yet, but it is already getting a lot of negative attention. After the network released a promo, fans say the show looks staged and is fake and disrespectful to the Amish community. They are unsure whether the show will make it to its premiere.

TLC: SUDDENLY AMISH CAST

TLC has a long history of making shows about Amish life. In the past, Breaking Amish and Return to Amish were very popular. These shows followed young Amish and Mennonite adults during Rumspringa, a time when they can explore life outside their community. Fans learnt later that the whole thing was staged. Some former cast members admitted they were not even in the Amish community. This made fans feel tricked, and the show’s viewership faded.

Now, TLC is trying again with Suddenly Amish. The show follows American non-Amish people who move into an Amish community in Lancaster, Pennsylvania. They all want to see if a simpler lifestyle can be better for them. Fans are not okay with this. They feel it looks staged and not respectful. Some believe TLC is doing it to make amends for the previous shows and failing.

As the promo spread on social media, the criticism grew stronger. One comment on X states that the Amish don’t want to be in videos or photographs in their homes, so it’s clearly staged, as they are letting camera crews in there. Fans also feel that the Amish actors are so fake. For more Suddenly Amish updates, follow TV Season & Spoilers.
