Surprisingly, Netflix renewed Virgin River Season 3 within a couple of weeks after the second season aired. Soon the core cast members confirmed their return for the third season as well. In a recent interview, showrunner Sue Tenney ensured that Virgin River would continue thrilling the fans as the source has plenty of stories left to tell. The second season didn’t conclude precisely the way the books did. So, they have plenty of rooms left to delve into the third season.
Virgin River Season 3: When Will Production Begin?
Back in July, the reports released that Virgin River Season 3 was scheduled to begin its filming between August and December 2020. It hints that the showrunners had secretly been filming the third season as they did with the second season. Virgin River Season 2 began filming in September 2019, even before the first season could air. Perhaps, Netflix had privately given them the powers to go-ahead, long before it was declared to the public.
Virgin River Season 3: Will Jack Survive?
The last season ended with many cliffhangers where Doc Mullins was trying to tell Hope something but got interrupted with the surprise party. Meanwhile, Preacher must decide whether he wanted to stay in the Virgin River or grab the opportunity to relocate to San Francisco. But everything faded in the final moments when Mel found Jack on the floor, shot and covered with blood. Now, it’s unclear will Jack survives and who shot him.
Speaking on the third season, Tenney said that the third season would immediately pick up from where they left. But quickly, it would follow a time jump which fans haven’t expected. So, it would explore everyone’s story from where they left it. But the upcoming season would also introduce some new troubles in people’s life of Virgin River.
Alexandra Reveals Jake’s Shooter
Many believe that local drug kingpin Calvin (David Cubitt) is behind the shocking finale. Even the series lead Alexandra confirmed that the upcoming season would head in that direction, too. The writers will lead us to believe that Calvin and his group is responsible. But, there’s a twist, Calvin might not have shot Jake by himself. Perhaps someone else had shot Jake. But who?
Virgin River Season 3: Who Will Join The Cast?
While Netflix announced the third season’s renewal, it also confirmed some new faces would join the team. These include Zibby Allen and Stacey Farber. The Flash star Zibby will play Jack’s sister Brie while Saving Hope star Farber will take a recurring role of Lilly’s daughter Tara. Besides them, Chilling Adventures Of Sabrina alum Jasmine Vega will join as Stella.
