WataMote, aka, No Matter How I Look at It, It’s You Guys’ Fault I’m Not Popular, is a Japanese anime series. The anime series adapts the manga series of the same name by Nico Tanigawa. The viewers first saw this anime on July 8, 2013. It ran for twelve episodes, which ended on September 23 of the same year. After its completion, the makers released an OVA episode as well in 2014.
WataMote Season 2: Renewal Status!
Silver Link Studios produced the first season of the anime series. However, they are quite tight-lipped in giving out the details about the anime’s second season. They neither canceled nor renewed the show for its second season. And the fans are still waiting to know whether they will see WataMote Season 2 or not. The fate of the anime series is still up in the air, and it is likely that the fans will get an update very soon.
Is There Enough Source Material?
The debut season of the anime adopted the first three volumes of the manga. The author of the manga has published 18 volumes so far, with the last one being released in June 2020. And that means the makers have more than 100 volumes to create WataMote Season 2. They have enough source material for the second season of the anime. Silver Link Studios can easily create two or three more seasons of it.

It seems like currently, the odds are not in favor of the second season of the anime. The makers have enough source material, but the popularity of the anime series has decreased gradually in the past seven years. And at a time like this, it is very unlikely that Silver Link or any other anime studio will invest their money in the anime series, which already lost half of its fans. During the course of the last seven years, the fans of the series have made several petitions for renewing the second season of the anime. However, it didn’t affect the makers at all. Therefore it is likely that the fans will not see WataMote Season 2 anytime soon.
