Welcome To Plathville: Ethan Wants To Bid Goodbye To His Family
The season finale on Tuesday night saw Ethan talking to his wife, Olivia. He says that he is prepared to go and talk to his parents. He expresses that he wants to speak to his siblings and bid them farewell before leaving Cairo. Additionally, the eldest Plath child also shared that he has a few things to say to his parents and set the record straight with them. He wants to make sure that Kim and Barry do not walk over the couple ever again.
Ethan Confronts His Parents Before Leaving Cairo
Olivia accompanied Ethan to Plath’s place but chose to stay back in the car. After Ethan arrived at his parents’ house, he asked his parents to come outside to have a talk. All the while, his siblings peeped from the windows. He reveals that he dropped by to inform that he and Olivia are moving out of Cairo. With that, there won’t be any contact between him and his parents. He further added that he’s here to say goodbye to his family, as reported by People.
Ethan didn’t stop at that. He went ahead and stated that he loves Olivia a lot. He also expressed that he never understood why his parents uttered hurtful things about his wife. Ethan said further that this whole episode had hurt him and his wife. However, he would not want anything of this sort to repeat. Interestingly, Ethan spoke that he wished he stopped his parents before they tell mean things to his wife.
Ethan And Barry Get Into A Ugly Fistfight
Ethan made it clear that he didn’t answer back out of respect. However, he also explained that if his parents did not approve of Olivia, they wouldn’t see him either. He further added that that’s why he is drawing a line that would remain intact until something happens in the future. While Kim empathized with her son, Barry also said that the family loves Ethan.
After this, Ethan proceeds to take his siblings towards his car so that they can say goodbye to Olivia. However, his parents stop him. According to them, Olivia should come to the property for the last goodbye. But Ethan doesn’t agree. As Barry moves towards Ethan’s car, the latter stops him by his arms. He asked his father not to walk over to his wife. Barry seems to agree. This is followed by the eldest Plath child hugging all his siblings and waving them goodbye.
Later, Ethan shares this fistfight episode with Moriah and Micah. He agrees that he had had a lot of anger inside of him and that it flowed at that time. He admitted that it was nasty but it was also relieving.
