The annual PaleyFest is currently unfolding in Los Angeles with the best TV shows, and it brought a lot of teases about What Do We Do In The Shadows Season 3. The Emmy-nominated show has also participated in the virtual panel held on March 30. There, showrunner Paul Simms along with executive producer Stefani Robinson joined through Zoom with the series cast to discuss some major plotlines and cast addition. FX’s docu-comedy series What Do We Do In The Shadows is inspired by Taika Waititi and Clement’s 2014 film of the same name. It focuses on the group of centuries-old vampires in Staten Island who is trying to live in the modern world. Meanwhile dealing with their tribulations and trials of living in the modern American world and interacting with other supernatural beings.
What Do We Do In The Shadows Season 3: Who Will Be In The Cast?
There’s no doubt that the series regulars bloodsuckers will return for the next run. These include Kayvan Novak as Nandor, Matt Berry as Laszlo Cravensworth, and Natasia Demetriou as Nadja. Along with them, Harvey Guillén will return as the recently revealed vampire hunter Guillermo de la Cruz. As well as Mark Proksch as an energy vampire, Colin Robinson will also return.
A Returning Character Will Join
During the virtual PaleyFest hosted on March 30, showrunner Paul Simms stated that an old character will return. Though Simms didn’t uncover who will return, he teased that the character had played a massive part in the season-long arc before. Before we could come up with the guess, Simms cleared that it’s not Nick Kroll as Simon the Devious. Instead, the person is the one whom we all know and love.
Has Filming Begun For Season 3?
In the panel discussion, Simms revealed that they are currently working on the script, which seems breathtaking. The third season was set to begin filming this February. But Simms confirmed that filming had been shifted due to the pandemic-safety restrictions. And now they’re looking for a fall return date. So it’s more likely that the upcoming season would take a year or more to land on our screens.
How Things Will Move Ahead In What Do We Do In The Shadows Season 3?
As per Robinson, deeming the second season’s critical reception, now they can do whatever they want to do with the show. The last season appeared as catching the lighting in the bottle. Though Robinson didn’t disclose much about the third season, he teased that they loved to explore something like Jackie Daytona’s episode.
He said that the episode allowed them to develop some unique format and push the series into a new setup. So that they can explore some new opportunities to experiment with the characters and storyline. But Robinson assured everyone that it wouldn’t be another Jackie’s adventure, as they know in which direction they want to go. Well, Robinson and Simms didn’t reveal what’s in the store. But it’ll be great for our appetite.
