Amy Slaton’s journey on the popular TLC show has been quite inspiring for a lot of fans. We’ve seen her achieve her initial weight loss goal and eventually get surgery. Most importantly, the reality TV celeb achieved her life-long goal after she gave birth to her first child ever. Well, we all witnessed her wedding to Michael Halterman back in the first season. The moment was quite emotional for her and her entire family, especially Tammy. She was pretty happy to see her sister walk down the aisle. However, this wasn’t the first time Amy got married.
Amy and Michael Halterman were already married before the public ceremony on the show. Hence, they remarried each other for everyone to see. However, Tammy couldn’t make it to their first wedding. Amy was certainly upset not to have her sister on her special day. Well, Tammy had a good reason why she didn’t make it there. The 665-lb celebrity was not present at her sister’s wedding because she was sick.
At that time, she was taking some diet pills, which messed up her health. In fact, the elder Slaton sister was so much in pain that she couldn’t even step out of her house. Well, it’s good for her that Amy got remarried to her hubby for a second time. This time Tammy was there to support her sister and be a part of her big day.
1000 Lb Sisters: Is Tammy Still On The Diet Pills?
Ever since Tammy appeared on the show, she has tried a bunch of different types of diets. Yet, almost none of them have actually helped her shed some pounds. Back in the day, she tried to take diet pills that were to help her lose weight. However, the pills turned out to be harmful to her health, so much so that she couldn’t make it to her sister’s wedding. As per Soapdirt, the 1000 Lb Sisters star was experiencing severe stomach cramps. Hence, she later got off them and hasn’t returned to that diet ever.
As of now, Tammy is speculated to be at an assisted living facility. After she gained 100 pounds in the finale of the second season, doctors advised her to join a facility. In fact, at this point, even a few pounds could become fatal for the 34-year-old. Well, we can only hope that the current treatment is helping her to shed some weight.
