Aladin has stated that Laura is really wasteful with the money. She frequently went to fancy restaurants and spent on drinking a glass of alcohol. Laura could have utilized the same amount in buying a bottle and drinking at home. She also said that she was sending money to Liam. However, he got to know that it was a lie from Liam’s dad when he posted that she was living off his money.
Aladin also mentioned that the show paid both of them. She has her balance in her account. On the other hand, Aladin spent most of the money on the wedding. He mentioned that she booked fine hotels for them to stay even if they had the perfect house. As for him, Aladin was careful with the cash. He wanted to have the wedding without getting into too much debt.

According to Screenrant, Laura previously told Aladin that she retired 5 years ago from her job. He decided to keep mum about it for a long time. But when they separated, he figured out that her salary could not have been as high so as to make her retire at the age of 45. Long Term Disability benefits could have been a possibility. But retirement doesn’t seem plausible. Since in Canada, the retirement age is 65, it doesn’t make sense that her employer would pay her 20 years earlier. Also, if she was receiving a pension, why would they suddenly cut it?
Laura also exaggerated about helping with rent. She only paid two out of the six months they lived together. It was only because Aladin spent all his savings on her. This explains to a certain level why Aladin wasn’t using her for the money. If he is telling the truth, he spent a lot more than she did.
