According to the reports, Paola Mayfield, the ’90 Day Fiance’ star along with her husband went through grueling backlash from fans because they decided to get their son vaccinated. She posted a picture on Instagram on Monday where she revealed that they had taken an “important step.”
Fans Reacted In A Shocking Way
While some fans stood in support of the 90 Day Fiance star. But others were concerned regarding the “scheduling” process as shared by Dr. Sears in his book. In the book, Dr. Sears says that infants don’t really require all the vaccine. He also says it is better to remove the ones which are not as important. Moreover, in this book, the doctor advises that the vaccines should be stretched out so that they don’t lump together.
Mayfield stated that she is not new to the backlash of social media and she had made peace with it. There were trolls that said the star was running after pseudoscience or that she should prepare herself because her baby will have autism after the vaccination and even calling her infanticide.
Amidst all the backlash, there were some fans who were pro-vaccination and took their side equally. They encouraged this step by sharing heartful comments. One called the post as a beautiful picture of pure love whereas, others encouraged her independent spirit to take of her child.

These misconceptions have cropped up because vaccines have been successful in the past and parents didn’t realize the seriousness of the disease. The second reason could be that Dr. Andrew Wakefield and his colleagues published a fake journal in 1998 which gained a lot of momentum by people. This led people to believe vaccines are dangerous and instilled a sense of fear among people.
Paola and her husband welcomed their son on New Year’s Day. She said that while people were hearing fireworks, she was waiting to meet her baby as soon as possible. While the experience was not at all easy but it was totally worth it. Naming her baby, Axel, she was excited to start her journey as a mom.
The 90 Day Fiance star also shared her experience of the vaccination journey. She was already crying before he had to get the shots. But then once he got it, she was really proud of him. He was really brave through the process.
