At the same time, the two of them are also planning their wedding. They met on a dating app and fell for each other. In a live session with John Yates, Deavan revealed that Jihoon was originally looking for Korean women online. However, he happened to find Deavan and the two of them hit it off.

The two of them met for the first time in Salt Lake City. Jihoon flew across to meet the love of his life. They felt a mutual connection towards each other which was pretty strong. This prompted the lovers to spend the night together. However, things took an unexpected turn when Deavan got pregnant. That is when the reality TV star began to make serious plans to go to South Korea to be with Jihoon.

Jihoon and Deavan had to face a lot of backlash from Jihoon’s parents. The fact that their son got a girl pregnant without wedlock was a factor of shame to them. Jihoon stated that without the blessing of his parents, he won’t be able to marry Deavan. They didn’t approve of having a child out of wedlock. Also, the language barrier didn’t make anything easier. When the cameras were rolling, we saw Deavan calling herself the worst-case scenario to marry Jihoon for his parents. However, Jihoon finally proposed to Deavan. But she questioned the motives behind the proposal and was worried that he might be proposing only because of the pregnancy.
Moreover, even before TLC started filming their relationship, Jihoon had visited Deavan a couple of times in the US. It seems like the feelings were quite strong even before the cameras started rolling.
