Todd and Julie Chrisley from Chrisley Knows Best have spoken publicly for the first time since leaving prison on their on platform. They did so following a pardon from former President Donald Trump. The reality TV couple, were doing time for crimes like bank fraud and tax evasion. They their sentences in 2023. Now when they are finally home, they are reflecting on their time behind bars and the road back to normal life.

   

The couple joined their daughter Savannah Chrisley on her Unlocked podcast to talk about their emotional return. While they unraveled a lot of shocking things in the episode, they also expressed gratitude for their daughter, Savannah. While doing so, the couple made some hard-hitting statements! What are they?

Chrisley Knows Best: Savannah Feels A Disconnect With Her Parents Since Their Prison Release! What Went Wrong?

As the Chrisley Knows Best family members, Savannah, Todd, and Julie, came together for their podcast episode since its release, it was an emotional rollercoaster. While they expressed relief most of the time, they also discussed some tough topics. For instance, Savannah admitted she feels a disconnect with her parents since their return.

While answering questions, both Julie and Todd agreed that there should be a system that released prisoners should get PTSD support. They then talked about Savannah’s struggle. Todd had a theory for the same. He said everyone in the family, except for Savannah, got a reset mode. However, Savannah had been carrying a lot of trauma because she was constantly under pressure to look after everyone.

As the latest episode of Unlocked just came out, Savannah told her mother that she fought “tooth and nail” for 2.5 years. She believes that’s why they came home. Julie responded that her daughter had been everyone’s fighter, not just theirs. The Chrisley Knows Best star also said that in prison, inmates gathered around the TV whenever Savannah was on. She explained that it felt like Savannah was speaking for them all.

Julie thanked Savannah and said they were grateful to be the ones who made it back. Todd added that they wouldn’t be home without her, God, and President Trump. He said she had become “their person.” When asked what prison taught him, Todd said he realized that everyone is equal and compassion matters more than he ever thought. He said the experience made him see people differently.

At the same time, Julie added that what hurt most was missing time with their children. She reflected that parents only get 18 summers with their kids before they’re grown. She said it was painful to know she missed two of those summers. Savannah quietly agreed, recognizing how much they had lost.
