Their faith is extremely important to them and if they feel that anything is being a threat to it, the eldest Duggars make sure they take care of it. In this case, they never allowed Amy to visit her cousins unsupervised.
Counting On: Amy Never Spent Alone Time With Her Cousins
We already know how strict Jim Bob is when it comes to Duggar family rules. This applies even now when most of the kids are married. One can imagine how rigid he would have been when his children were teenagers. Amy King reveals that she couldn’t visit her cousins without either Jim or Michelle supervising their conversations.
For instance, it won’t be an overstatement to say that Joy-Anna doesn’t spend much time with Amy even though they live next door. This means that her strict father still keeps a close watch on her. Of course, he prefers his kids not hanging out with Amy.
A few years ago, Amy posted that she could only hang out with her cousins if Jim Bob was okay with it. Apparently, he and his wife Michelle thought that Amy was a bad influence to their kids. Even though she is Christian, their faith differs to some extent. The fact that Amy attended a traditional school must have something to do with the Duggar family patriarch so hesitant to let his kids be around her.
Counting On: Amy Close To Jill, Distant From Jana
Jana and Amy live closeby and they are also similar in age. It makes sense that they could be great friends. However, Jana is never spotted hanging out with the controversial cousin. Perhaps, the fact that she is still unmarried and under Jim Bob’s radar has something to do with it. The Duggar family only mentioned her when she gave birth to her son. However, we didn’t see many sweet family pictures.
However, Amy is reportedly close friends with Jill and her husband Derick. Well, considering that the Duggar family has disowned Jill, it makes sense for Amy and Jill to bond. In fact, when Derick brought out the grey areas of the Duggar family out in the open, Amy applauded him for it.
Counting On: Amy and Derick Teaming Up For Something Big?
Amy and Derick, both have their own reasons to spill beans on the Duggar family patriarch. Amy doesn’t like the fact that they exercised supervision while she met her cousins. On the other hand, Derick thinks that it’s unfair for Jim Bob to keep all the money from the show for himself without giving anything to the Duggar kids. Moreover, he is writing a book that reveals what goes on in the Duggar family.
On the show, the fans have seen a pretty religious side of the family. Even though we are aware of how strict they can be with their kids, some things still seem to be hidden from the eyes of the fans. Derick, of course, is adamant about bringing out the secrets. Jim Bob has chosen to remain silent as Derick keeps on spilling more tea about the family. Jill Duggar seems to keep mum on the feud between Jib Bob and her husband.
