‘Counting On’: Jessa Duggar’s Son Henry Catching Up After Speech Delay

Counting On: Jessa Duggar took to social media to inform fans that her son suffered from speech delay. Two months after giving the news, the reality TV star has given fans another update. Let’s take a look.

Counting On: Jessa Updates Fans On Henry’s Condition

Jessa shared a picture of her husband and sons sporting a matching outfit on Tuesday. Her dad used to say that ‘These are the best days of our lives, and we don’t even know it,’” she mentioned this in the caption of the picture. One fan took to the comments section to ask her about her son’s developmental progress.

At the beginning of November 2019, Jessa revealed that they noticed something odd about Henry. He wasn’t communicating like his brother or other kids of his age. When he was 18 months old, the parents got his ears, nose, and throat checked. He used verbal gestures and grunts to communicate during that time.

After Henry was born, they had his tongue-tie got clipped. This is why Jessa and Ben wanted the doctors to evaluate him. According to the doctor, there was no impairment in his hearing. Speech delay was the only problem. Jessa was more stressed out as a mom. But Ben was laid back and assured her that they would figure it out.

Jessa Stated Henry Is Catching Up

When the fan asked about Henry’s speech delay, Jessa said that they are soon going for a follow-up. Moreover, she revealed that he is catching up. The doctors have mentioned that the ages of two to three years are very crucial for a child’s development. Jessa identified the issue and took immediate action by consulting her son to a speech pathologist.

As for Spurgeon, he is developing perfectly fine. However, the birth of Jessa’s daughter Ivy didn’t go according to the plan. She is seven months old. The couple welcomed her in May. Jessa planned hospital birth with her midwife present. But she went into labor ten days earlier. So, they had to find her another midwife, and she delivered the baby on the couch of their home.

Counting On: Henry Adores Ivy

Even though Henry might not be able to express this in words, he adores his little sister Ivy. Jessa shared a picture of the two siblings where Henry was showering his baby sister with love, and she was resting against him. Earlier, Spurgeon was a bit wary when Henry was born. He treated him like a toy. But eventually, the brothers got along. Now, they are a happy family of five. The parents are doing the best they can for the kids.
