Counting On: Jill Opens About Therapy Helping Her In Dealing With Breaking Off From Duggar Family

Jill Duggar has officially become the black sheep of the Counting On’s Duggar family. The veteran fans are aware of how everything turned out between her and the family. Derick was fired from the show, and that led to the couple moving out of the show. Since then, Derick is feuding against Jim Bob, accusing him of controlling others’ finances. As he and Jill continue to rebel against the family, she talked about therapy, helping her a lot recently. Let’s have a look here.

Counting On: Jill Talks About The Importance Of Therapies

In a recent Q & A session, Jill and Derick interacted with their fans. The video is up on their Youtube. In this video, Jill notes that therapy helped her immensely in her recent tryst with the conservative family. She shared that therapy helped her attain due strength for standing against the norms and making important decisions for her own family. She has made some changes to her family’s living, including enrolling her eldest in a public school and herself consuming alcohol. Moreover, she feels empowered, but her siblings don’t agree to where she is headed now. They’re not supportive of her always and she has come to terms with this fact.

Jill said that although therapy has been helpful, it didn’t change them. As Christians, the Bible remains to be their standard and guide. Furthermore, she added that she is a ‘people pleaser.’ However, she tries to listen and process matters of her concern and put others to the wayside for her husband and kids. Jill mentioned that as she is growing, she is learning to be okay with people not being okay only to a certain degree.

Derick Is Feuding With Jim Bob, Jill Follows The Suit

Right at the end of 2019, a follower questioned Derick as to why it appeared as if he and Jill do not talk to the Duggar family. Derick responded that things are good and hinted towards the rift between him and Jim Bob. He shared that Jill needs his permission to visit the Duggar mansion. Since then, the reality star has been speaking quite a lot about the Duggar patriarch. Jill, for her part, remains mum on the subject.

Jill and Derick share a very strong relationship, so much so that Jill can always fall back on her husband in her low times. In March 2020, she shared about having date nights during the current coronavirus pandemic. She stressed the need to value little things, including dating in the marriage. She explained that the pandemic would introduce some problems between a couple. However, couples therapy can help a lot in dealing with the mounting stress. It might include listening to podcasts, keeping up with couples therapy sessions online, looking for outdoor activities to enjoy, etc.
