Jill shared an Instagram post on Sunday revealing the big secret. She posted a picture with Derick and added some deets in the caption. Jill wrote that prior to their engagement, she stayed in Arkansas while her beau was in Nepal. The two didn’t announce their courtship until they were officially engaged! Taking this forward, Jill shared that it’s been seven years since Derick asked her to be his girlfriend. Shortly after, they said their vows to be there for each other, forever.
Jill and Derick were 25-years-old when they began courting each other. Towards the end of the caption, Jill nudged her fans to watch out for the upcoming Q&A video. She said that the couple would be sharing their thoughts on dating vs courtship. And the way Jill wrote it, it seems that it’s going to be very interesting!
Jill Says Courtship Is Important, Waiting Making The Experience More Special
Around the time of their wedding in 2014, Jill gave an insight into physical intimacy in a relationship. In an interview with People, Jill said that it’s better to save one’s first kiss or that embrace before the couple is officially married. According to her, the period of wait makes it all the more special and bereft of regrets. The fans might recall that recently, Derick had a joke on this. When a fan asked Jill as to why Duggars rush themselves into the marriage, Derrick hopped on and gave some insight. The father of two noted that the Duggars want to have sex and this is why they cannot keep themselves away from marriage!
