‘Counting On’: Jim Bob Patched Things Up With Jinger Duggar Vuolo After Disowning Her Due To Her Move To Vegas

Counting On: We are aware of how strict Jim Bob is with his rules for the children. It’s basically like, if they can’t play according to the rules, they are no longer a part of the family. This is exactly what he did to daughter Jinger Duggar when she moved to LA with her hubby. But it seems like the father and the daughter have patched things up and are ready to put aside the petty differences. Let’s take a detailed look at this.

Counting On: Jim Bob Disowning Jinger For Being a Family Rebel

Jeremy wanted to enroll in the L.A. divinity school. This is the reason why the couple announced their move to LA. However, it definitely didn’t go well with the Duggar family patriarch. Moreover, there had been many instances in which Jinger acted like a rebellious teen, at least according to Jim Bob.

Sometimes, fans used to think that this dispute was a bit over-exaggerated. However, according to sources, Jim Bob did disown his daughter and cut her off for quite some time. Even now, when they have reconciled, compassion is not the emotion that triggered this change. It turns out it was sheer vanity.

Jim Bob Had Difficulties In Accepting Jeremy As Son-In-Law

Jeremy wasn’t as conservative as the Duggar family. Obviously, their values didn’t align and Jim Bob didn’t like him. But he accepted him as Jinger’s partner reluctantly. Even though they follow the same religion, the entire belief system of Jerem is different from that of Jim Bob.  For instance, Jinger had to follow a really tight dress code while growing up. But the fact that Jeremy lets her roam around bare-legged doesn’t please Jim Bob.

The father-in-law and son-in-law differ on some theological points as well and they are important to both. When Jinger and Jeremy were courting, Jim found out that he was a Calvinist just like Ben Seewald. When the couple made their move to Vegas, Jim Bob was aghast at the thought of his daughter literally living in the sin city.

Counting On: Not The First Time Jim Bob Disowned Jinger

When Jinger and Jeremy briefly moved to California, Jim Bob disowned his daughter for some time back then too. Although it didn’t last that long. But as for the change of heart is considered, it was a parishioner and a neighbor who intervened. It turns out that disowning Jinger was bad for his reputation. So, apparently that’s likely to be the reason why Jim Bob made things right with his rebellious daughter.

But even though Jinger has her father’s acceptance now, she hasn’t altered her lifestyle. Even if it’s a weird way to live like this in a family, the new situation works well for both parties. Sound off your thoughts in the comments below.
