Counting On: What Exactly Went Down With Josh Duggar’s Legal Issues?

The reality TV star failed to appear in the court even though he was facing charges for real estate fraud. He narrowly escaped an arrest because, apparently, he was unaware that he even had to make a court appearance. The big question here is how he managed to escape jail.

According to Hollywood Gossip, we are aware that the Department of Homeland Security raided his business. However, the recent incident had nothing to do with that. He is also facing molestation charges. This is also one of the reasons behind the cancellation of 19 Kids and Counting. As for the recent events, he was supposed to appear in court to answer questions about his real estate fraud. Apparently, he didn’t know that he has to show up when the court summons him.

Counting On: Citation For Contempt For Josh Duggar

Josh Duggar got a citation for contempt when he didn’t go to the court. The judge has also given him a warning. If he doesn’t show up to the court on Tuesday evening, they will also give him a body attachment. When the second deadline was nearing, the judges probably thought that he wasn’t going to show up. However, he escaped an impending arrest by making an appearance just 17 minutes before his scheduled appearance.

It was a close cut. Why the reality TV star chose to show up just a few minutes before the mentioned time when he had all day is beyond us.

Counting On: Josh Duggar’s Latest Lawsuit

Josh is facing real estate fraud charges for trying to sell out a piece of land that he doesn’t own. In fact, the owner is an entirely different person. According to Carl Echols’s claims, he bought a 5-acre parcel of land for $17,500. He made the purchase in the year 2006. The location of the land is in Arkansas, which is in the countryside. Now we can understand the reasonable price. He says that his cousin sold him the land. Now, that’s where things get a little agitated.
Lewis, apparently, didn’t recall selling the land to his cousin. He sold it to Duggar for $1000. Echols says that if Josh did some digging, he would have found out who the legal owner was. Well, we can’t say what exactly will happen in court. However, there are still chances that the matter can settle outside of court as well.
As for the recent events, Josh and Anna are celebrating the addition of another little member to their family. Maryella is their sixth child. Stay tuned for more updates on the Duggars!
