The Slaton family of 1000 Lb Sisters faced a recent tragedy as Amy and Tammy’s cousin passed away young. They faced the biggest loss of their lives, but fans are there to show their support. Amanda was the first to discuss her sister’s health battle on social media. The latter suffered from stage 4 gastric adenocarcinoma, which is a sporadic stomach cancer. 

Earlier this year, Katie’s illness was diagnosed, which made her family fund her hospital bills, food, and treatment. Tammy asked her fans for a favor, which she never did for anyone. She detailed that she would be forever grateful to those who can contribute to the GoFundMe and send prayers their way. While many donated, the campaign still fell short of the goal amount.

Two days before Katie’s tragic passing, Amanda Halterman shocked fans by admitting that Katie was going through a lot of pain. Through an Instagram post, she asked fans to whisper prayers for their family and the well-being of her sister. The emotional plea from her somehow made everyone realize that they are having more troubles lately.

Amanda posted a photo of Katie, probably taken weeks ago, where she held the former’s grandson in her arms. The latter smiled and spent time with her siblings. The former revealed that the family is continuing to show support to the latter in every possible way. She further claimed that she was given the right to be by her side. Most comments prayed for Katie by rushing to the comment section. Some also inquired about her, while others gave suggestions.

1000 Lb Sisters: Amanda Is Shattered Due To Katie’s Demise!

Katie Slaton came to 1000 Lb Sisters Season 5 a couple of times, but she never received the spotlight, so she walked away from the frame. Her scene featured her alongside Tammy, who had returned from rehab. However, viewers are now missing since Amanda broke the news of her passing at just 37. 

Katie took her last breath on August 25 despite undergoing the best cancer treatment. Amanda announced her death on her Instagram on the next day, grieving how it crushed her heart and spirit. She might have shaken from within to write down the whole caption. The reality star said that Katie’s soul went up to sit at the feet of Jesus Christ.

Amanda shared a happy picture of herself and Katie. She called her the life of her group, and of course, her best friend as well. She added that she knows that their grandparents and friends might have loved welcoming Katie to heaven. Katie is survived by her partner, Natalie, three kids, and parents.

Amanda again requested prayers from her well-wishers for Katie’s loved ones. She also thanked those who have come out in pouring tributes and supported her cousin.
