The first season had the entire cast from Atlanta, that is because the custom-built facility was there. The production wanted participants from the same place. It does ask whether or not the person is a US citizen but there is an option of no, so they might be accepting international applicants.
Talking about taking the show abroad, Coelen says that they will have to speak to Netflix about that. But he thinks that there are many great cities they can explore.
