Back in February, Love Island stars Olivia and Alex Bowen revealed that they were set to welcome their second child. Later in March, the couple came forward and disclosed that they were actually expecting twins, but due to vanishing twin syndrome (VTS), they lost one of the babies. In August, Olivia gave birth to their daughter, Sienna.

Love Island: Olivia & Alex Bowen Open Up About Losing One Of Their Twins

A few weeks ago, Love Island stars Olivia and Alex finally opened up about losing one of their twins. Recalling the tragic incident, Olivia shared that she felt numb at first and then needed to talk. “But I try not to take anything negative from it any more – we’re lucky to still have Sienna here,” she added. Olivia further explained that when they visited the hospital for an eight-week scan, she learned there was no heartbeat and no movement from one of the twins.

She could not bring herself to look at Alex. Furthermore, Alex said the grief hit him very hard and immediately. He explained that when he received the news, he went to the bathroom to cry. He could see that Olivia was in so much pain. Alex also admitted that it was the ‘most amazing feeling’ when he found out he was going to be a twin dad.

Love Island: Olivia Reveals She Nearly Died While Giving Birth To Her Daughter

In August, Love Island couple Olivia and Alex welcomed their second child, a daughter named Siena Grace. Now, the mother of two has revealed that she nearly died while giving birth to her daughter. She shared that she lost a massive amount of blood during the birthing process. Earlier, some reports claimed that Olivia had rushed to the hospital and needed a C-section.

She lost nearly three litres of blood because of two tears in her uterus. The mother of two had planned to give birth at home, but that could not happen. While speaking with The Sun, Olivia shared more details. She said she thought she was going to lose her life. Alex added that the ‘atmosphere’ changed as soon as he saw ‘the color drain from Olivia’s face.’

He admitted that it was the scariest thing he had ever experienced. Furthermore, the reality TV star added that she had to recover from it, but it was challenging as she had to look after both her newborn and her older son. Earlier, when the couple announced the arrival of their daughter, Olivia wrote, “I can’t even find the words other than to say our beautiful girl Siena Grace is here.”

She further added that they were bursting with love. Olivia said that it wasn’t an easy ride, but every second was worth it a thousand times over. “I love my babies,” the mother of two said.
