Love Island USA: Olandria Breaks Silence On Racial Slur During Huda & Louis’s Stream!

Olandria came to find out what went down during Huda and Louise’s TikTok stream. She responded to it on her Instagram stories, voicing her thoughts on racism. “I do not condone racism of any kind, nor do I entertain it. That kind of language is never acceptable. Not in anger, not as a joke, not ever,”. She continues, “Words like that carry generations of pain, and pretending otherwise only keeps the cycle going. Defending it, laughing about it, or making excuses is even worse”.

Olandria called for “real accountability and awareness,” which is what building community should be, and speaking up against hate speech is the bare minimum. Olandria did not mince her words when she said that this post might “result in surface-level apologies”. She took this opportunity to call on the stream’s viewers to stand against racism by contributing to organizations that are actively working to educate people about the issue. She shared means and ways to donate to these organizations in the following slides of the story.

Huda Mustafa posted her first story, listing her reasons for the reaction to the racial slur. In her story, she mentioned that she does not “condone racism”. Huda explained that she and Louise could not hear exactly what was said, but they disconnected the call immediately after. Huda also said she would address this before it gets blown out of proportion. She addressed the laughter as awkward, and they didn’t know how to react to the racial slur at the moment.

Huda seemed to take accountability once Olandria posted her reaction on Instagram. In her next story, Huda said, “I want to take this moment to take accountability for my actions more fully”. In another lengthy statement, Huda said, “Olandria – it is now clear that this comment was targeted at you, and I apologize for my immediate reaction,” she said. Huda went on to clarify that in that moment, Huda does not condone that kind of language and wants the wrongdoer to think about their action.

Huda’s boyfriend, Louis, who was also present during the livestream, also posted his response. On his Instagram, Louis said, “As a Black man, I have greater empathy through my own lived experiences battling racism. Louis clarified that his “flustered reaction” to the unnerving situation might be taken as him not taking the matter seriously. He also said he was proud of Olandria for taking a stand.
