Isabel, 22, shared a picture with her late elder brother on Thursday. She wrote a significantly lengthy caption saying that she is ‘good at pretending.’ However, right now, she is not okay. She further explained that it was easier for her to pretend than tell others how broken she was when her brother passed away eight years ago. She continued that she held her family together when everything was ripping apart. As ‘we all lost ourselves one by one,’ Isabel added, she continued with the charade.

Isabel didn’t stop at remembering the loss of our loved ones. She said that losing her brother and then her mother, within a year, affected her mental health. She also said that her depression continues to prevent her from trusting others. “My depression keeps me from seeing that I deserve joy and peace. It always feels so far out of reach,” Isabel explained.
