It looks like Pumpkin despises Geno as much as June loves him. June says that he has never held her against her will and loves her daughters. It looks like Mama June doesn’t want to create a bridge between her and Geno. This could be the main reason why she is against rehab.
Even though June is longing for a life with Geno, the family is unlikely to welcome her as long as he is in her life. Moreover, there is a lot she might have to do to gain the family’s trust back.

June is desperate to reconnect with her family. She even had a serious conversation with Pumpkin, her daughter. She told her that she was clean, but Pumpkin didn’t believe her mom. So, to end her skepticism, June took a drug test. To everyone’s shock, she was really not under the effect of drugs. At one point, it looked like her earnestness to reconcile with her family is sincere.
However, considering that it’s Mama June, there is no scene without a pinch of discomfort and controversy. Just when we thought that Pumpkin would have warmed p with her mom, June straightaway refused for the in-patient rehab.

Pumpkin was clearly shocked that her mom didn’t want to go to rehab, at least full time. However, she is willing for an out-patient rehab. According to June, she doesn’t want to be cut off from the world.
But it looks like the isolation is not Mama June’s main concern. Her daughter and the doctors think that she doesn’t want to stay away from her boyfriend Geno. If that’s the case, the family is worried tht he might pull her back into doing drugs. Of course, if that happens, her relationship with her daughters will once again be in jeopardy.
Clearly, Geno has some sort of hold on her. She keeps vouching for him saying that he is clean. Pumpkin doesn’t believe a word June says about Geno.
