‘My 600 Lb Life’: David Bolton Files a Negligence Lawsuit Against Megalomedia

We know that deceased LB Bonner’s family has filed a lawsuit against Megalomedia. Now, another cast member of My 600 Lb Life has filed a negligence case against the production company. Let’s take a look at this in detail.

My 600 Lb Life: Same Attorney Representing Both Parties

The same attorney is representing both Bolton and Bonner’s family in the court. Bolton claims that the producers of the show lied to him that they would pay his bills. His allegations also include traumatic and staged drama for the reality TV show. He even states that they didn’t provide him the promised mental healthcare.

Both Bonner’s and Bolton’s experience with the production company Megalomedia have been similar in many areas. According to David, the producers of the show focused only on the ratings at the expense of those who appeared on it. He added that they were taking advantage of the contestants.

After the surgery, David had to undergo a lot of changes in his lifestyle. That caused a lot of difficulties and frustrations. But conforming to the conditions and strict filming schedule of Megalomedia put more strain and worsened the situation.

My 600 Lb Life: No Help To Tackle Emotional Problems

David accuses Megalomedia of the lack of assistance in dealing with the emotional problems he experienced during this time. He says that there was no shortage of staged scenes just to create more drama.

Bonner’s family also said that they manipulated the scenes for adding more drama. David also had to deal with thousands of dollars of unpaid medical bills. Both Bonner’s family and David have said that the company promised to pay their medical bills after surgery. But they didn’t, and now David and Bonner’s family has to deal with a lot of unpaid bills.

In Bonner’s case, people in charge of collecting the bills were constantly poking him to pay off the debt. This added to his stress and according to his family, was one of the reasons he committed suicide. David has also stated that the bill collectors are going after him and he is stressed out as well.

My 600 Lb Life: More Accusations For Megalomedia

The lawsuit also accuses the company of failing to train its employees about suicidal ideation, depression, and similar symptomatology. Considering that they have been in close proximity to those undergoing drastic weight loss, this is something they should have seen coming.

Megalomedia hasn’t responded to David’s lawsuit yet. However, they have called Bonner’s lawsuit filled with false accusations and without merit. They also said that they are sorry for the loss of the family and that Bonner’s death was tragic, the company claims that they have no part to play.
