Pawn Stars: Which Is The Most Expensive Buy On The Show

Pawn Star is famous for collecting rare items. But has this thought ever crossed your mind: Is that the most expensive item on the show? Well, it is Maurice Sendak’s drawings. According to Outsider, Rick brought the original drawing in season 15. The pawn shop owner admired their authenticity.

While the seller, Nick, was expecting nothing less than $375,000 for the drawings, Rick managed to negotiate a lower price with him. After a good discussion on what the final price should be, both parties agreed on a price of $250,000. Harrison locked the deal and immediately told the audience, “I own them.”

Pawn Stars: Is Rick Harrison’s Business In Danger?

Pawn Stars fame Rick Harrison recently opened up about what he thinks about declining tourism in Las Vegas. Well, since the pawn shop draws many visitors as one of downtown’s main attractions, low tourism might affect its business. Here’s what the owner has said and presented his thoughts on the situation, and he also offered a theory that possibly justifies the low tourism at the place.

While explaining his theory, Harrison added that COVID has an aftereffect. As soon as the pandemic was over, everyone wanted to travel. This benefited all the businesses. But now, that effect is over. He said, “Okay, first off, there is the COVID hangover.” He further added, “Okay, all that money was coming in. Everybody was making money like crazy, and it’s gone.” Rick also said that a slowdown might be a course correction. The pawn shop owner further said, “Some of the casinos on the Strip need to get their act together.”

He also explained that he has been seeing tourists from Mexico, Europe, and South America, but he does not see many visitors from Asia. “I’m not getting the Asian tourists,” he added. Rick also added that Asian tourism is way down, and that’s another thing they don’t mention when they say tourism in Vegas is down. “You have like Japan, where the value of their money has gotten down,” Harrison revealed.

The pawn shop owner also noted that any downturn in the U.S. economy would quickly affect Las Vegas. “I mean, it just, it’s the nature of Las Vegas,” he nodded. Surprisingly, despite the broader challenges, the situation hasn’t affected the pawn shop’s business. It continues to attract steady foot traffic and maintain customer interest, even when other local companies are struggling. He stated that the business is up year-over-year and reminded everyone that Las Vegas is the world’s premier tourist destination.
