After being together for nearly 8 years, the couple decided to call it off and quietly divorced. While everyone thought he was done with giving love another try, he surprised everyone by proposing to his girlfriend Angie in early 2024.

Pawn Stars: Why Did Rick Choose A Book Over George Washington’s Letter?

Once, Pawn Star fame Rick Harrison bought a book instead of an original George Washington letter. For many, that piece of paper is something they would have brought in a heartbeat. But for Rick, that letter was “too rough” for his customers. His regular customer, Adam, presented three different things which he called “three real treasures.” He told Harrison about all three of them one by one.

The first one was a 1430 painting from a medieval book. Adam further added, “In the 19th century, the miniature paintings inside were recognized as true works of art.” He further showed Rick a book called “Book of Games” by Edmund Hoyle. “It’s printed in Philadelphia in 1796, and that makes it the first book on card games printed in America,” Adam added. The customer then brought up the most interesting piece from his collection. George Washington’s letter.

Adam added, “So this is a very important letter signed on September 15, 1792, in George Washington’s hand, having to do with the Whiskey Rebellion.” After the discussion, when Rick asked Adam about the price, he told Harrison that he would want to get $45,000 for the collection. Without wasting any time, Rick called in Stuart Lutz to check the authenticity of the collection. Lutz examined the letter by looking at the documents written by Mr. Washington. He questioned the signature, condition, and size of the letter, but then he confirmed that it was authentic.

However, with all the factors and everything he added, they won’t price the letter at more than $25,000. Later, when Stuart left, surprisingly, Rick chose to get the book and painting. “It’s just for my customers, it’s too rough,” Rick added. When Harrison asked for the price of the pair, Adam demanded $20,000. But Rick bargained, and they finalized the deal at $18,000 for both pieces.
