In a clip she shared on Instagram, Jessie revealed how her childhood struggles molded her into the person she is today. “It’s really hard for me to be open about personal stuff,” Jessie admitted. “I moved a lot growing up, 14 different places, sometimes three different schools in one year.”

Jessie explained that she spent much of her life searching for acceptance, but motherhood helped her find peace. “I’ve been more present in where I am at in my life and so grateful with where I am at more than I ever have,” she said. She also added that her children — Vivianne, Eric Jr., Forrest, and Denver — gave her that sense of contentment. She said, “My kids accept me and my family is what matters most.”

Special Forces: Jessie Proudly Reflects On Her Military Family Legacy

Being from a military background, Jessie has been vocal about her pride in the fact. During a recent interview with Fox, Jessie revealed that her father, stepfather, grandfather, and great-grandfather all served in the U.S. military, a legacy she carries proudly.

“My brother’s words stuck in my mind more than anybody,” Jessie shared. “Before we had to turn our phones in, he reminded me that our dads were both Army and Air Force. He told me, ‘They were warriors. It’s in your blood. Channel that warrior inside of you.’” Jessie said she thought about those words every day during the competition, determined to make her family proud.

This isn’t the first time Jessie has spoken about her military upbringing. Earlier this year, she credited her “military brat” background for shaping her outlook as a mother. “My mom was the most positive military spouse,” she told Fox News Digital. She added, “She loved what her husband did for this country and never complained once.”

Even after pushing herself to the limit and bleeding during one of the show’s toughest challenges, Jessie’s strength shone through.
