Teen Mom star Cory Wharton revealed shocking news to all his fans and followers. The reality TV star shared that his three-year-old daughter, Maya, will undergo a second open-heart surgery. The little one was born with a rare heart condition, which requires several surgeries. She already had one open-heart surgery, but this will be her second time. Cory shares Maya with his longtime girlfriend, Taylor.

The duo welcomed Maya on June 20, 2022. She became their second daughter. Before her, they had another daughter, and Cory is already a father to another daughter, Ryder, whom he shares with his ex, Cheyenne Floyd. Even Ryder has a heart condition, and her family constantly monitors her. Cory further admitted that this is a highly stressful time for him as his little one prepares to fight for her life.

For any parent, watching a child battle health issues is heartbreaking, especially with Ryder’s VLCAD. As she grew older, she complained of chest pain, and Cheyenne told Cory Wharton that Ryder’s EKG showed irregular activity, requiring a cardiologist visit. Ryder later told her dad her heart was beating too fast.

Cheyenne admitted she stays worried until test results arrive. Doctors confirmed Ryder’s heart shape was fine, but prescribed a two-week heart monitor. Ryder described the test as “scary, but not too scary,” while Cheyenne struggled to comfort her without fear.

Cory Wharton’s daughter, Maya, is just three years old and already the strongest warrior alive. She has undergone heart surgery before, and now she will undergo another one in just three years. Cory shared an Instagram post about his daughter’s health struggles. He also uploaded a series of photos from the hospital, where Maya looked adorable.

Cory requested his fans to pray for Maya. He explained that she has a cath lab in the morning and needs to get ready for her next heart surgery. He further said that all parents will agree with him that it is always stressful when their kids undergo anesthesia. Parents start to feel PTSD from all the other procedures they have already experienced. He admitted that it is not a good feeling, but he remains hopeful that his daughter will fight everything.

Cory elaborated that he knows Maya is a little warrior who will win and come back to him. Fans immediately started to pray for the little one in the comment sections and wished her all the very best. A fan commented, “Praying for a smooth and fast recovery!” while another added, “Just got done praying 🙏🏽 God bless you all 🙏🏽 Maya’s got this.” Maya suffers from tricuspid atresia. The lower right side of her heart is small and didn’t form properly.

Maya will need two to three surgeries, depending on her recovery. Taylor previously shared that doctors told them about Maya’s condition during their 20-week anatomy scan. Doctors explained how the baby’s heart condition was concerning and not entirely developed. This was the main reason why they kept her in the NICU after birth.
