Teen Mom star Ryan Edwards has been a part of the show for years. He was just a teen when he and his partner, Maci, got pregnant with their first child. At the time, he was spiraling as he struggled with substance abuse. Their relationship did not work out, but Ryan moved on in life with Mackenzie Standifer. The couple got married and had two children: a daughter named Stella and a son named Jagger. However, their relationship did not last long. The couple got divorced, and it was a messy affair.
For the past few months, there have been a lot of questions about Teen Mom: The Next Chapter’s future. Some say they will return with a new season, while others, including some of the cast members, believe the show might end soon. Now, Ryan has joined the bandwagon. In his legal report, he dropped hints that the show might end soon, which would significantly reduce his income. He further requested the court to adjust his child support agreement because he would no longer be able to afford the current amount.
Teen Mom star Ryan Edwards revealed his financial struggles amid his divorce from Mackenzie. They share two kids, Stella and Jagger. Ryan disclosed he has no savings or retirement funds and only one checking account.
He owes $18,000 in credit card debt, a $320,000 mortgage, and back taxes from 2020 and 2021. He blamed Mackenzie for not filing the taxes as promised. Meanwhile, she claimed he missed two months of child support, and the court ordered him to pay $1,553 monthly.
Ryan Edwards has been a part of the show for years and was an active member of Teen Mom: The Next Chapter. However, over the past few months, numerous rumors have circulated that the show might be canceled. He seemingly confirmed it in his new court documents. As you might know, he is getting a divorce from his wife, Mackenzie. They also share two kids, a daughter and a son.
As a result, Ryan needs to pay child support for them. The court determines the child support depending on his income, and a few months ago, he submitted his income documents. In the motion to modify temporary child support, Ryan requested the court to decrease the child support amount. In February 2025, he submitted an order for temporary child support, which was based on his monthly income.
At that time, it was $13,333. A huge chunk of his income used to come from the paycheck he received from Teen Mom. Apart from this, he also had a regular job as a mechanic. In the recent documents, he claimed that he is no longer earning through the series, through no fault of his own. This seemingly confirms that the makers decided to cancel the show and that he is not at fault.
Ryan further added that he is unable to continue paying child support in accordance with the October 2024 order and requested the court to modify the amount. He pays $1,553 monthly to Mackenzie for his kids’ child support. He also has a son with his ex, Maci, and a daughter with Amanda. Stay tuned to TV Season & Spoilers for further updates.
