Scheana Shay, an original personality on Vanderpump Rules, has been embroiled in several controversies lately. The star recently made Brock Davies’s affair public in her memoir, My Good Side. This has raised new questions and fueled public curiosity about her life, with many viewers expressing support for her decision to share her story openly.
Alex Baskin, the producer, recently pointed out that Scheana chose to keep the matter private. He said she should have allowed it to play out in the series. The statement has once again renewed a debate about how much of one’s life should be a part of reality television. As Vanderpump Rules prepares for another reboot with a fresh cast, Scheana’s revelation and the producer’s comment have raised many questions.
The release of Scheana Shay’s new memoir, My Good Side, has sparked a lot of discussion. It is receiving a strong reception from fans. The book has earned the No. 4 spot on the renowned New York Times Combined Print & E‑Book Nonfiction list. Since its launch on July 22, 2025, it has already become one of the most talked-about celebrity memoirs of the year.
The amazing response to her memoir can be attributed to Shay’s connection with her fans, which was way more than just reality TV. People have heaped praises on her honest and straightforward storytelling. Along with the book making its way into the New York Times Ranking, the memoir has also been one of Amazon’s bestsellers. Shay’s shocking and juicy details have sparked both media attention and online buzz.
Scheana Shay, the longtime Vanderpump Rules personality, has unveiled her tell-all memoir, My Good Side. In the memoir, she revealed the most personal incident of Brock Davies, her husband. He confessed to cheating on her while she was pregnant with his baby. The confession took place around seasons nine and ten, and she kept it extremely private. Davies handed Scheana a letter “full of spelling errors,” she said, where he mentioned details of the affair. “He stressed it was purely physical, never emotional, and that he always used protection,” Shay wrote.

Scheana chose to keep the news under tight wraps and not mention it to the cameras or producers. “We didn’t know about it,” Alex Baskin told The Hollywood Reporter. “She kept it under very tight wraps… and yes, it’s a story we would have and should have covered,” Alex said. He explained that the absence of Brock’s affair from the show created a noticeable gap. According to him, it affected how the cameras truly captured her life.
To give her side, Shay admitted she wasn’t ready to make it public. Speaking to Us Weekly, she said, “I don’t think our marriage would’ve survived if I did. I wasn’t even protecting Brock, I was protecting Summer.” Brock also admitted to his affair on Shay’s podcast, Scheananigans. “It was three weeks, purely physical,” he admitted. “I was a coward for not telling her sooner, but I support her for putting it in the book because it’s her story.”
By keeping Brock’s infidelity off the show, Scheana showed her priority of family over cameras. Producer Alex Baskin, however, commented that this would have been a central narrative on-screen if it had been covered on the show. He added that he would have liked to include it.
