Welcome to Plathville is returning with its second season soon. After a drama-filled debut season, the next one promises to give more! Amidst this, there are rumours that the TLC show chronicling the lives of Plathville family is scripted. They lived cut off from the church community. Despite everyone suggesting them to stay in town, they decided to live on their farm. Apart from this, it is known that Plathville couple, Kim and Barry, never got the birth certificates for their kids. It was only when TLC indeed their lives that they got them.
Welcome To Plathville: Blogger Katie Joy Reveals Seven Plath Kids Didn’t Have Birth Certificates
According to a news tabloid Daily Soap Dish, nobody knew about the Plath kids before 2017. Apparently, the doctor or midwife involved in their birth was not registered and hence, all the mystery. Following this, none of the kids were registered and so, went without a recognised birth certificate. According to blogger Katie Joy of Without a Crystal Ball, the Plaths had 10 children in all. One of them died as a youngster and out of the remaining nine, two had birth certificates. That happens to be Ethan and his elder sister. The rest had no identity.
Katie notes that Kim Plath attended university and consumed alcohol. However, she restricted her children to indulge in any of the fun activities. She and Barry have made some absurd decisions of their own for their children. Katie further explained the lack of birth certificates for the seven children before the family started off with the TLC show. After she filed a petition to the court, the court revealed that the kids were born at home. So, clearly, no registered doctor or midwife was involved in the process. In 2017, TLC had to intervene and obtain registered documents for all the children. This probably explains why Kim and Barry homeschooled their children. This also reveals why the children led allegedly ‘invisible lives’ all hidden from the government.
Welcome To Plathville: Season 2 Premieres This November
TLC released the trailer for season 2 on September 27. The fans might recall that the upcoming season is set to premiere on November 10. While the fans thought that the conservative Plaths would not go beyond season 1, the news of season 2 came as a surprise. The next season will feature Micah’s modelling career kicking off while Moriah enjoys her independence. The family is split into three households and things are tensed up. It would only get more interesting to see the shifting dynamic of the Plaths in season 2.
