Emmerdale: Rebecca Grant’s Ties To Royal Family

Emmerdale former star Rebecca Grant recently shared a huge family scandal. The soap actress portrayed the role of Dr. Stamford on the show. She was also a part of soaps like Holby City and Doctors. Recently, her fascinating family history brought her to the limelight. The actress’s great-grandmother Ernestine Hester Maude Bowes Lyon, born in 1891, was actually the first cousin of Queen Mother. They were raised in Glamis Castle. She married Francis Scott and had two sons with him, 

The 42-year-old Emmerdale star revealed that history took a turn when Ernestine fell in love with a handsome army officer,  Ronald Grant, Baron de Longueuil. She even followed him all the way to the Western Front. However, later, Grant requested her to return. She did go back to her family but was divorced by her husband in 1918. The Emmerdale former added that the whole affair caused a huge ‘scandal’ at that time. Eventually, Ernestine died at the age of 95 somewhere in France. Additionally, the late and Rebecca’s royal connection has been confirmed by royal historians. She is declared as the fourth cousin to Prince William and Harry. 

As far as Rebecca is concerned, the Emmerdale actress accepted that she has never met the royalties. However, she met Prince Charles once and sent him a letter detailing the family link they had in the 1800s.
