One of General Hospital’s former cast is disclosing all the details about her own exit and the unexpected recast. Fans who have been following the show will remember that Vinessa Antoine played Jordan Ashford’s role before Briana Nicole Henry stepped in to play that in 2018. General Hospital Spoilers: Who Is The Alumni?
It’s none other than Vinessa Antoine, who played Jordon before 2018. Now, in an interview, she revealed that she had no plan of leaving the show. She was offered the leading role in Diggstown, so she had thought that she would do what other actors did. Diggstown is only a six-episode series and wasn’t a big commitment. The actress had assumed that she would take a little sabbatical just like other actors and come back to Port Charles. However, little did she know that she was being replaced. It was a tough blow for her.
Vinessa Antoine On Being Replaced
In an interview, Vinessa Antoine admitted that she thought that she would get to stay on the show. She also revealed that it all came like a shocker for her. She had never planned to leave the show. Antoine pointed out how some easy writing option could have justified her absence, but General Hospital chose to replace her.
She said that she knew that she would have only gone for the summer. So, she had thought that the story would twist, and her character might either go on an undercover mission or maybe fall into a coma, but they had plans that she couldn’t control.
Antoine Was Disappointed About Jordan-Curtis Wedding!
In the interview, she revealed that she was particularly very disappointed that she couldn’t be a part of the Jordan-Curtis wedding. She thought it was unfair to the fans that she wasn’t involved in that. General Hospital couldn’t use one of older sequences of Antoine’s Jordan to make to take the Curtis and Jordan fans down a memory lane.
Anyways, most of us agree that the wedding was pretty disappointing. The whole thing felt really hollow because it was difficult to adjust to new Jordan. It was difficult for GH fans to connect to the new version of their beloved couple.
Continuing in the interview, Antoine said that she really wanted to give the audience that moment. She is happy where she is now, but not getting to play that sequence will always be a sore spot for her. She really wanted to give the audience that soap-opera moment.
Antoine has embraced the changes and moved on. She is now enjoying her life. Now back to General Hospital, the spoilers and updates suggest that there will be more of mob mayhem heating in Port Charles. It will be interesting to see how Jordan handles it all. Her mother is arrested for Peter August’s crimes, so she will be very happy about her daughter coming back. Along with that, Britt is Brad’s only friend so, she might be coming in to help the guy. Britt will, for sure, be shocked to see both her mother and BFF behind bars. So, this comeback could cause major shakeups in the show.
Along with that, the legal eagle Zara Amir is also coming back to the show. Fans who have been following the show know that Zara was Shiloh Archer’s attorney back when he was on trial. This time she will play Nelle Hayes lawyer and a reason why that woman is free. Along with that, she is now after Michael Corinthos and will want full custody of their son. Undoubtfully, Zara will, for sure, help Nelle and crush Michael in the process.
