General Hospital fans must know that Days of Our Lives alum Charles Shaughnessy is coming to Port Charles. He is all set to make a debut sometime in September 2021. While there has been no news on what character he would play, that doesn’t and won’t stop GH fans from speculating what character Shaughnessy could play. Now, there are a number of options right now.
Long time General Hospital viewers would recall that Shaughnessy had once before debuted on the soap opera. He came to Port Charles back in 1984 and played the role of Holly Sutton’s cousin Alistair Durban. So, it is possible that he might reprise the role. Not just that, there have been speculations asking, Could Charles come in as Victor Cassadine? The character was last played by Thaao Penghlis, who is quite busy with Days of Our Lives. Yes, we know that he was killed off back in 2014 but characters waking up from the dead isn’t anything new to soap operas. So, that is a possibility.
As suggested by a Reddit Thread, another possibility is Charles coming in as Valentin’s father. General Hospital has maintained that mystery for the longest time. So, it is possible that Shaughnessy might come in as Valentin’s father. Valentin’s blood test did not match Alexis, but that doesn’t mean that he can’t be Cassadine in another way? So, this is possible too. Alternatively, it is possible that he might be coming in for an entirely new character.
