General Hospital: Esme Regains Memory, Continues To Fake Amnesia To Fool Spencer & Trina

Esme Prince has a really wretched past in Port Charles on General Hospital. She did many questionable things and forever walked on the wrong side of life. However, she hasn’t really faced the music for her past deeds. The respite came in form of the interim forgiveness she received from Trina after her baby, Ace, was born. And, of course, because she lost her memory and remembers literally nothing. But for how long can her amnesia last, really? And what will happen when she regains her memory if she hasn’t already? Dive in to find out if Esme could continue to fake amnesia to reap the benefits it brings!

The Current Status Of Esme’s Alleged Amnesia

In an attempt to flee from Nikolas Cassadine’s captivity, Esme took a plunge into the water behind Wyndermere. This indeed won her the freedom she so desperately craved, but it came at the cost of her memory. As a result of the injuries sustained in her escape attempt, Esme developed amnesia. This resulted in her not only forgetting every evil stunt she pulled in the past but also forgoing any acquaintance she had with the darkness inside her. This made her feel completely helpless when she was put behind bars on the charges of her past misdeeds.

However, her amnesia did come with a massive advantage to her on General Hospital. Recently, Trina decided that since Esme can’t remember anything she did in the past, it will be hard to pin everything on her. Moreover, she did not want to subject baby Ace to a life behind bars alongside his mother. Thus, she decided to temporarily drop the charges on Esme, at least until she regains her memory. Spencer also agreed with her reasoning. But, are Trina and Spencer being too quick to take that decision? Will the upcoming episodes makes them regret dropping the charges?

Esme Continues To Fake Amnesia To Fool Spencer And Trina On General Hospital

In the recent episode of General Hospital, Esme received a letter from her mother. Whatever Heather wrote in the letter horrified Esme so much that the blood drained from her face. Since the episode did not reveal to the viewers what the content of the letter was, we can only assume. Although there is a fair chance that it could have something to d with the Hook Killings. Or something related to Esme’s past that could trigger her memories. So if Esme regains her memories (if she ever lost them in the first place), what would it mean for her future?

If she recalls her evil past, she would become the same old Esme, that everyone despised on General Hospital. Any wiggle room she was getting would be snatched back. She might even be in a more vulnerable place of losing baby Ace’s custody. What would Esme do then? Perhaps she would decide to keep the latest developments under wrap so as to not lose the benefits she was reaping as an amnesiac. Moreover, if her evil genes get triggered, she might go back to pulling her wicked stunts. So Spencer and Trina’s leniency might backfire at them big time. What do you think? Tell us in the comments below. Meanwhile, stay tuned to General Hospital to see what Esme does next.
