General Hospital has been on Television for nearly 60 years now! Over its six-decade run, it has undoubtedly collected a huge pool of characters. Understandably, it’s not possible for all the characters to be on screen all at once at any given point of time. Thus, it often happens that a series of characters keep coming back to the screen and falling off-screen. Their entries and exits are usually written in quite clearly and seamlessly into the existing storylines. However, there is one character on the ABC soap that has been ominously missing for quite some time, and fans have started to wonder what’s up! We are talking about none other than Hayden Barnes!
If you were wondering the same, we have the answers for you! In a recent chat with Soaps She knows, actress Rebecca Budig discussed why her character Hayden has been away from General Hospital. Rebecca shared that it’s really heartbreaking that Hayden has been away from her daughter Violet for so long. It’s really tragic that she had to leave Port Charles and be off-screen on the soap, she added. Rebecca pointed out that, as of now, no real reason has been revealed as to why Hayden is not coming back to Port Charles to be with her daughter.
Where Is Hayden? Will She Return To General Hospital?
The General Hospital actress stated that she has come up with her own explanation to make sense of the situation. She believes that Hayden would never stay away by her own wish. It’s not like she doesn’t want to come back. It’s more like she CAN’T come back. The actress said that there had been no input from the makers on Hayden’s current situation. She could be dead, or she could be in captivity somewhere. However, Rebecca hopes that Hayden isn’t dead. There are several other reasons that could be at play. Perhaps, Hayden’s life is in danger, or Violet’s!
The talented actress admitted that she has not heard from the makers of the ABC soap for a while now. So all the fans who were hoping to see her on the screen will have to wait for a few heartbeats longer. However, she hinted that she would love to reprise her role as Hayden if she was made the offer. Well, if she isn’t really dead on the soap, then there is still hope that Hayden would one day return to Port Charles to reunite with her daughter. We are keeping our fingers crossed for it!
