General Hospital fans know that right now, Jason is in the middle of a very interesting storyline. He was first in love with Britt and was building a relationship with her. But then, suddenly, things changed when Carly proposed that she and Jason should get married. While she is just doing this for the business, Carly and Jason are finally getting married.
But, this is one of those storylines that fans are having a hard time being okay with. Recently, Jason portrayer Steve Burton opened up about this storyline and everything else that has been going on with Jason on the soap opera. Here is what the actor had to say.
General Hospital: Steve Burton Talks About Jason Carly Storyline
Speaking to Soap Opera Digest, Steve spoke about Jason-Carly’s impending nuptials storyline. The actor says that he doesn’t think that viewers get this storyline. Clearing the air after this statement, he says that what he and Laura (Carly Corinthos) really care about is that they have some amazing scenes coming up. That is what it comes down to for both of them.
He points that if the overall story works, that would be awesome, but right now, they are finding something new for them, something that they have never had. They have been in General Hospital for very long. So, this is something that becomes intriguing as actors. This is something that he thinks that not a lot of fans get. This whole storyline is new to them, and it is cool for them because they get to explore new things and do new things. All of it is pretty exciting.
What About Britt And Jason Storyline? What’s The Future?
As reported by GeneralHospitalBlog, Steve also opened up about his storyline with Kelly Thiebaud (Britt Westbourne). GH viewers would recall that Britt and Jason had started developing feelings, but then Jason had to break Britt’s heart to get married to Carly. Speaking about them, Steve says that Jason and Britt are interested in one another. So, that is a little strain in works.
They are romantically interested, but then the business side comes up, and it is the perfect storm in the marriage. Jason wanted to make things work with Britt. He genuinely cared for her. But right now, he has to fulfill his duties. Jason’s loyalties lie with Carly and the family business.
While many fans aren’t happy about it, and they want that Jason tells Britt the truth, Steve explains that it isn’t possible. Steve says that a lot of Mafia guys have affairs going on in the side. So, anything is possible there, but right now, Jason is doing the right thing. For Jason, it doesn’t feel like sneaking around with all the power transitions going on.
Burton continues to say that one thing that Jason and Carly want to do is showing a united front. The best way to do this is to cut Britt off and move forward as a family. That is what is going on in Jason’s mind. Then, concluding his take on the whole thing, Steve says that they are on a soap opera, and he wants forgiveness if fans aren’t liking what’s being done.
Right now, Steve is enjoying time off with his family. Recently, he posted a beautiful picture with his adorable kids, wife, and a picturesque body of water behind them.
