One name that popped up the most was Doug Davidson, who plays the character of Paul Williams. When actors and fans started sharing pictures of Michael Baldwin, there were a number of tweets and messages that spoke about how much they wanted Doug to come back. Many fans urged the production to bring him back, and we cleared the air back then. Back in May 2021, Doug himself took everything into his own hands to clear the fact. Given how clear the actor was back in time, it is less likely that he would reprise the role. Doug first joined the soap back in 1978 and became a fan favorite almost instantly. So, fans were hoping that he would come back again. However, given the actor’s stance on it, it is less likely. But, that does not mean that fans have given up.
Fans have started a petition to bring back Doug, and that is now gaining popularity. Would Doug ever come back? We will have to wait to see. Things change in soap operas in a heartbeat.
