The Young and the Restless Alum Abby Dalton Is No Longer With Us

The Young and the Restless

This comes as sad news, The Young and the Restless alum Abby Dalton passed away on November 23 in L.A. The actress had been suffering for a long time. The actress has worked on a number of films, including Carnival Rock, Stakeout on Dope Street, and Teenage Doll. Dalton was nominated for Emmy for her outstanding performance in a Supporting Role in a 1961 series- Hennesey. Her other credits include My Three Sons, Nanny, and the Professor and Love American Style.

The actress was also famous for her role in Falcon Crest. She played the character of Julia on the show. She was Lance’s mother and Angela Channing’s daughter on the show. In a very shocking story arc, Julia was the killer of Carlo Agretti. After that, she killed the second victim. This victim was played by Jacqueline Perrault. However, even after being a double murderer, she continued to be on the show for many more seasons.

After ending her stint in Falcon Crest, Dalton continued to act. She appeared as Lydia Summers on The Young and the Restless in 1995. Lydia was Phyllis’ mother. Her last stint was a 2013 film- Mrs. Sweeney, that told the story of elder abuse and the aftermath of bad behavior. Dalton lived with her husband- Jack D. Smith, and their children- Matthew Kathleen and John. She also had three grandchildren and a great-grandson.

We send our heartfelt condolences to the family and fans out there. Let’s hope for her soul to rest in peace.
