She took a college sabbatical and gave birth to two girls. One of these girls was Hilary, who she gave to her cousin Rose Turner. What Amanda will not understand about this is why Naya abandoned her. Why would she separate her twin daughters like that? Naya was rich, and that fact would make Amanda feel even more abandoned and unwanted. She could have easily used her resources to track Amanda down.
