Reunions, reunions. The latest The Young and the Restless spoilers reveal that viewers will get to see a rather heartfelt reunion on the soap opera soon. Family Matters Alum Telma Hopkins is all set to join The Young and the Restless for a short stint. Here, she will be reunited with her Family Matters son Bryton James who plays the character of Devon Hamilton on the Y&R. Meanwhile, Entertainment Weekly also reported that Hopkins will play the character of Denise Tolliver in the soap opera.
More news about her character reveals that Denise is a private detective. She will come to Genoa City bearing some shocking information. This information will have something to do with Amanda’s past. Will all this somehow weave into the Sutton Ames’ case storyline? Amanda is really busy with that case right now. Coming back to Hopkins, this will be the first time James and Hopkins will work together after Family Matters went off the air back in 1998. Hopkins will make her The Young and the Restless debut on June 1.
The Young And The Restless: Hopkins and James Shares Their Experience Of Working Together Again
In an interview with Entertainment Weekly, Hopkins stated that she felt like she was coming back home. It feels like a full circle to her. While she does not feels that she ever lost touch with James, it is nice to have a friendly face smiling across the room. She is used to him, and it feels like home, like family to her.
James, on the other hand, said that he felt that their acting was effortless. They felt comfortable as they stepped on the stage. He revealed that when the scene starts, they have to act like they don’t know each other, but it did remind him of how grateful he is. James stated that this was a reminder of how long he has been able to do this. Telma has been a reason he has enjoyed acting for 30 years. He called the experience of sharing the stage with Telma- special.
It looks like this was a fun yet emotional reunion. We will have to wait to see what they bring on-screen. From what we know right now, Devon and Denise together will undoubtedly stir some drama.
