The Young and The Restless has done it again! Nick Newman and Sharon’s daughter, Faith Newman, is about to be recast! The reason, you may ask? Well, Y&R’s super couple’s daughter is getting SOARS-ed, again! For the uninitiated, SOARS translates to, “Soap Opera Rapid Aging Syndrome.” Faith’s character, last portrayed by actress Reylynn Caster, has been aged once before. She jumped years when she went from Middle School to High School in the blink of an eye. And now the word on the street is that Faith will return home as a College kid!
Just in case you recently started watching The Young and The Restless and are feeling a little lost on Faith, let us give you some background. Faith Newman is the youngest offspring of the iconic couple, Nick and Sharon Newman. She was born on-screen in the year 2009. That should ideally make her between 13 and 14 years of age. However, she will now be shown as a college-going young adult. When the character was first introduced on the soap, she was portrayed by child star Alyvia Alyn Lind.
The New Faith Newman On The Young And The Restless
Alyvia portrayed the role for about a decade on The Young and The Restless before handing it over to Reylynn Caster. Soap Dirt reports that a wonderful actress from Days of Our Lives is currently being considered for Faith’s role. However, no official confirmation has been made regarding the character’s aging or recast. The return of Nick’s youngest child comes at an interesting point in the soap! Sally Spectra is pregnant, and Nick is a front-runner as the daddy, competing with younger brother Adam. So, if Nick is Sally’s bio-baby daddy, then Faith will not be his youngest anymore!
We wonder if Faith Newman’s return on The Young and The Restless has anything to do with Sally and Nick’s current storyline. On the other hand, her return can also bring Nick and Sharon into each other’s orbit. So in case Adam is Sally’s baby daddy, Nick and Sharon could have a reason to come closer! What say you?
