The Young and The Restless has proved to be a launchpad to many stars over the years. Sasha, too earned her first Daytime Emmy Award nomination for Y&R. However, she exited the soap in 2021. The Young and The Restless alum has bagged a huge part in The DC Extended Universe! Sasha will portray the superheroine, Supergirl in The Flash. This will mark her debut in feature films. This cannot be any lesser than a dream role! However, the materialization of the dream wasn’t as easy for Sasha. After bagging the role, multiple roadblocks came in her way, sometimes in the form of the pandemic, other times as production delays. In fact, there came the point where it started to look like the project will never take off. That would’ve really put a pin in Sasha’s elevating career!
However, destiny shined upon The Young and The Restless star, and the production decided against canning the project. The big-wigs felt that the movie was just too good to be scrapped and finally decided to release it in June 2023. So tighten your seat belts as Sasha Calle is all set to fly high as Supergirl! The trailer of the exciting film was released during the Super Bowl. And our very own Supergirl Sasha shared it on her official Instagram account soon after.
“Holy sh*t! This is so so wild!” The Young and The Restless alum exclaimed in the caption of the video. Sasha wrote that she has completely fallen in love with Supergirl and feels beautiful and excited to be able to share it with her fans. Furthermore, she added that getting to know and feel her has been one of her greatest honors. We could literally feel her excitement and joy as she wrote, “This moment is so so special. I love you all. SH*T. MY HEART!” She announced the release date of the film, June 16th, and asked her fans to watch it with her on that day.
The Young and The Restless star also pointed out a very important message. Sasha shared that the most important thing that she learned from Supergirl is Hope. “Anything is possible. Don’t let anyone tell you otherwise!!” she reminded her fans. And we have taken note of it! It’s true that hope keeps us afloat in hard times. So never give up! We are so excited to watch the flick!
