American Gods Season 3: More Episodes? Releasing In August & Updates

Its been a year since the fans last saw any episode of this show and now they are eagerly waiting for American Gods Season 3. Recently, in a video posted by the official twitter page of this show, Ricky Whittle gave some updates on the third season of this show. He told the fans that the third installment would have ten episodes instead of eight. The fans and the critics highly praised the inaugural season whereas the second one received a mixed or average response. American Gods is an American fantasy drama web TV series. It is the remake of novel series of the same name by Neil Gaiman. Bryan Fuller and Michael Green for the Starz. This show made its debut on 30 April 2017 and became an instant hit. The got renewed for a second season which premiered on 10 March 2019. Starz decided to give the green light to the third season just after one week of the premiere. The second season faced a series of disturbed, behind-the-scenes concerns during the run-up to season two which created a lot of controversies.

The show lead actor Ricky Whittle confirmed through a video that the show completed the shooting of the third season. The official Twitter handle of this show posted the video last month. The third installment is currently in its post-production stage. And they will definitely try to wrap the things up as soon as possible because of the current global scenario.

American Gods Season 3: Plot Details

American Gods Season 3 focuses on Shadow as he aims to cut up away. And offer for himself as his humans. He is placing down roots within the charming cold city of Lakeside, Wisconsin where he’ll reveal a dark secret while looking through queries of his holiness. So, he commanded on this holy seek by the gods of his darkish ancestors. The Orishas, Shadow, have to find out what his real identity is.

The show is a fair and brilliant adaptation of the novel series. However, the creators did change some things from the book in the show. In a recent interview, Ricky Whittle said, “I feel that now the show is really converting to its own thing it’s evolving into a distinct organism. There are so many various kinds of ways that the show can go in. It really can go anywhere, which is interesting. We might not certainly finish at the book, or maybe the novel will finish first, and we’ll grow into something else.”

Who Will Be In It?

The creators will introduce some new characters in American Gods Season 3. Marilyn Manson will join the cast as “Johan, death metal rocker,” and Lela Loren will appear as “Marguerite Olsen.” More characters who will join the cast along with them are Blythe Danne as “Greek goddess Demeter,” Herizen Guardiola as “Orisha Oshun,” Rapper Wale as “Chango,” and Danny Trejo as “Mr. Glover.”

Most of the characters from the second season will also reprise their roles. The returning faces are Ricky Whittle as “Shadow Moon,” Ian McShane as “Mr. Wednesday,” Emily Browning as “Laura Moon,” Crispin Glover as “Mr. World” and Bruce Langley as “the Technical Boy.”

American Gods Season 3: Release Date

Since the filming of the show is complete, and it is in its last stage of production, hence the fans can expect to see the show sooner than later. If the pandemic does not halt the post-production, then the fans might see the show by August/September 2020. However, the creators are yet to give any updates regarding the release date.
