American Gods Season 4: Will Not Return At Starz! Know The Reason Behind

Starz

The recent finale of American Gods wrapped with Shadow Moon’s sacrificed setting for the more significant battle. But will they ever return with American Gods Season 4? Sadly, it appears that Starz has cut their ties with American Gods, but not the creators. The epic finale hints that the dark hailstorm is on the horizon, perhaps in a different form. Though the series debut received great acclaim from Neil Gaiman’s fans and critics, the behind-the-scenes battles seems to ruin everything.

American Gods Season 3 deemed as the most balanced season to date. But it also saw controversy as the star Marilyn Manson was fired due to several abuse allegations. Despite this, American Gods always focused on the struggle of Shadow Moon and how he’s drawn into the divine world. However, the show moved far away from Neil’s novel that inspired it by introducing new challenges and characters for the mortal world.

American Gods Season 4: Canceled?

Sadly, Starz confirmed on Monday that American Gods wouldn’t return for the fourth season. Well, the news for the immature end to the perplexing series wasn’t much surprising. However, the series’ cliffhanger finale on March 21 saw Ricky Whittle’s Shadow Moon killed at Tree of Life. And the central point in Neil’s novel sets the fourth season where Mr. Wednesday / Odin takes advantage of Moon’s sacrifice to strife with the New Gods.

Well, in the classic small-screen style where everyone finds a way to wrap up the story they wanted to tell, we learned that there have been discussions going on for American Gods fate. The Toronto-themed series might have followed Neil’s novel to wrap the story. But now, it might continue in a film or an event series. But it’s unclear at the moment, as the series has received double-digit rating declines in every season. Thus the continuation probably turns risky for the cable network.

Reason Behind The Cancelation

Starz didn’t share the reason behind the series end. Though the increasing feud between the cast and crew members seems like the major backlash for the series. Developed by Michael Green and Bryan Fuller, American Gods has seen plenty of drama behind the camera than in front of it. But soon Jesse Alexander replaced Fuller and Green during the making of the second season. That also lead to more chaos than ever.

Starz Praised The Cast And Crew

A Starz spokesperson said that they are grateful to the crew and cast. Even they thanked their partner for bringing the author Neil Gaiman‘s work into life. “Everyone at Starz is grateful for our partners at Fremantle who brought executive producer and author Neil Gaiman’s related story to life” to tell the stories of the cultural climate of their country.

Shadow Moon Star Talked About His Journey

Whittle replied to the cancelation news after it came off. He recalled the time he spent making the series. Whittle said that the show had a great journey so far. Even he’s grateful to the fellow cast and crew members who have worked on the award-winning show. “We have great fans around the globe and thank each of you for your support and love,” said Whittle. He added that Neil and Fremantle and the other cast members are looking to continue the story with him. So perhaps, they’ll return.
