The episode started with a big mystery of “Where is Kate? What happened to her?” The episode gave all viewers mixed emotions. The episode that premiered this Sunday saw Kate’s plane crashing into the National City near the river where Ryan Wilder discovered the batsuit, among many other things. While Kate’s body hasn’t been recovered yet, everyone still has some hope that she might still be alive. While Luke Fox and Kate’s father are still optimistic, her twin sister Alice has accepted that Kate is dead.
After Kate went missing, Wilder steps up as the new Batwoman, and this new Batwoman will have her own complications as she becomes the new protagonist. In the first episode, Tommy Elliot had shot her with kryptonite, and the remaining crystalline remained in her wound. The creator Caroline Dries says that this will all just worsen because she did not tell the Bat Team about the extent of her injury.

Batwoman Season 2 Episode 2: What Would Happen Next?
The synopsis of the upcoming Batwoman Season 2 Episode 2 is out, and it suggests that Ryan will think that her time as Batwoman is just a one-and-done thing. It will not last long. However, that isn’t the truth. She is here to stick for a longer time. In the upcoming episode, Alice and Ryan’s paths will also cross.
Alice had a dynamic and personal relationship with Kate. So, it will be interesting to see how their relationship develops when Ryan and Alice cross paths. The plot for Alice coming in was teased by the end of the first season of Batwoman and was tailored for Kate. But now, things have changed, so the villain will have to adjust to this new story.
Safiyah’s arrival on the Batwoman was also teased in the first season. But now, fans will finally get to see her in the upcoming season. While it isn’t yet clear if she will come up in the second episode or not, we know that her presence will be felt indeed.
Other than that, viewers will get to see Ryan as she starts adjusting to her new role. On the other side, Jacob Kane and Sophie Moore will keep looking for Kate Kane’s disappearance and try to find out more about what has happened to the former Batwoman.
